Obituary for Antonio DeRosa

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our husband, father, Nonno and all-around amazing person, Antonio (Tony) DeRosa on December 24, 2022, at the age of 73 years after a brief, fierce battle with cancer.

Tony had such a joy for life that was contagious. Our Tony was the most loving, supportive, generous, helpful, funny, humble and kindhearted person who dearly loved his family and friends. His happy place was with his “hun”, wife Maria, wherever she was, especially at the cabin. He loved to cook and be in the kitchen or in front of the grill. Nothing made him happier than to feed the people he loved. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was their biggest fan. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Tony is survived by wife, Maria; two daughters and their families, Melanie, Alan, Annabelle and Domenic; and Rosalyn, Kevin, Vienna and Portia; siblings, Vincenzo (Julie), Franca (Giuseppe), and Maria (Attilio); sister and brother-in-law, Enzo and Francesca; grandpuppies, Bollo, Barley and Maple; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Rosa.

The family is eternally grateful to Doctor Michelle Fairgrieve-Park and the Palliative care team at the Grey Nuns Hospital.

Prayers Thursday, December 29 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 210 Haddow Close (23 Avenue and Terwillegar Drive).

Funeral Mass Friday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, followed with interment in Rosehill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Covenant Health Foundation Palliative Care Institute.
