Obituary for Barbara V. "Barb" Goodine

Barbara V. "Barb" Goodine
May 10, 1939 – May 15, 2023

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Barbara V. Goodine on Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by family in Lamont, AB.

Barb was born in Sisson Brook, NB to the late Dick and Vivian (née Porter) Tapley. She leaves behind her children, Dawnella (Hans) Goodine of Lloydminster, AB and Ward Goodine of Edmonton, AB; sisters; Lena Lacey, Sharon Paget, Peggy (Preston) Jenkins of Plaster Rock, NB and Patricia (Terry) Oleksyn of Lamont, AB; brothers; Ted (GraceAnn) Tapley of Plaster Rock, NB, Richard (Dorothy) Tapley of Mississauga, ON, Roger (Colleen) Tapley of Lamont, AB; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James, daughter, Connie; her parents; brother, Norman; brothers-in-law, Rick Arden, James Lacey and Bob Paget; sisters-in-law, Debbie Tapley and Dean Tapley.

Barb was a beautiful woman with a fierce and loyal attitude. She loved playing cards (mostly 45’s) and bingo. She retired with James in their log home, feeding her deer furbabies and driving her limo (golfcart) for 20+ years. Her generosity and love for her family and friends was a blessing to all of us. She will be remembered for her kindness and love of playing cards with the young’uns. She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and an awesome supporter of local clubs and organizations.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at her daughter, Dawnella’s home in Lloydminster, AB on Saturday, May 27, 2023. As per her wishes, her ashes will be spread in the mountains and off her old deck in Oxbow, NB with the remaining placed with her husband, James and daughter, Connie in the Burntland Brook Cemetery at a later date.
