Condolence: Although our families have never met; through the Oiler's hockey games, we grew to love Ben as though he was a part of our family. It was a joy to see his big smile and the twinkle in his eyes. Ben's memory will live on in all our hearts. Letting you know, your family is not alone. Three years ago (Aug.15,2019), my son passed away from a brain tumor- glioblastoma. We gathered strength from our church family and friends, and our faith in God. May our Heavenly Father, wrap His arms of love around your family, giving you comfort, strength, and peace through this very difficult time. Love and prayers from my family to yours.

Condolence: My condolences & prayers go out to Ben's family and friends. I'm a Sharks fan in the SF/Bay Area. I didn't know Ben, but I followed his story thru twitter. It reminded me of the 2019 St. Louis Blues story of 11 yr. old Laila Anderson. That had such a happy ending. I had hoped this would be the same. I was captivated by Ben. At 5 yrs old he was so kind & his heart was so big. His sense of humor made you forget he was seriously ill. Ben was magical, he could turn enemies into supporters. He was inspiring and that's what made us all "fall in love" with him. His spirit was so big, I was hoping that it would convince his fragile little body to hold out and wait, even for just one more season. It couldn't. I was crushed when his father informed us all he had passed away. I commend Connor McDavid & the Oilers organization for making him a "teammate" & making the last few months of his life a happy one. But really, it was all of us that was "gifted" with his presence. His story took us away from our fractured world, so for me, I am totally grateful to him. I do "fan videos" as a hobby, mainly for the Sharks, but now I'm also an Oilers fan. I felt compelled to do a fan video for Ben. Here is my tribute to an amazing young soul. Ben, in your short time here on earth, we know you left it all out on the ice. Rest easy sweet angel. https://youtu.be/GRhidrLO4ks

Condolence: To Ben's dearest family and extended families, I did not know Ben, but he was such an inspiration to people of all ages.. He could have easily been our son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson. He truly filled our hearts with love, joy and big smiles as he did all the Edmonton Oilers and all the fans. May you all cherish the wonderful memories of your Ben, and may they sustain you all in the upcoming days, weeks, and months ahead. God Bless you his parents and extended family. Condolence: I never met Ben. I've never met any of the Stelter family yet I feel like they are family. I'm a huge Oilers fan. I love in Newfoundland and Labrador. Like all Oiler fans we fell in love with Ben from the first time we saw him on the ice with the team. He became a folk hero to all of us and a little brother/cousin/son just for being who he was. We loved seeing him every time he turned up at a game or on the screen. I offer my most sincere condolences to the family. We grieve with you. Remember the great times and know that Ben is always there looking out for you. He will never be forgotten.

Condolence From: Mike from Calgary
Condolence: I eventually would have learned about Ben, through the media, like many did. But fortunately, from a distance, I was blessed to get to know him a little earlier being an Oilers fan. The unwavering strength, courage, and shine Ben showed is remarkable. Ben and his family have endured enormous struggles and way too much pain for a child his age. Ben touched and inspired so many people. I wish more people could impact the world in such a positive way as this amazing 6yr old did. Rest In Peace Ben, you changed my life.

Condolence From: Barbara J. Sowak, St. Albert
Condolence: My deepest condolences on the all too early passing of this innocent, sweet little boy. Cutest thing ever, was when he was led, in full hockey uniform, into the Oilers' dressing room to meet and greet, the guys. I'm guessing he was thinking "Huh? WOWWWWW....is this for real? How cool is this!' Many believe Ben was a true good luck charm for the Oilers. He will be watching the games and rooting from above, this coming season.
