Obituary for Donna Audrey Rentz

Donna Audrey Rentz
It is with profound sadness that I, Garry Rentz, announce the death of the woman I have loved throughout the last fifty-seven years of our life journey. I am comforted by and greatly appreciate the love and support of our family and friends that has buoyed me throughout our lives, particularly in the past twelve days as Donna’s pneumonia proved to be too much for her to overcome. We cannot overstate the comfort we derived from Dr. Hawkins and the staff at the Acute Care ward at Canmore General Hospital where Donna moved from Eagle View Long Term Care, her home for the past eight months. The loving and compassionate care received from the nurses and care staff at Eagle View gave us peace and comfort during such a difficult time.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our lives in Canmore where we repurposed our holiday retreat to our full-time home five years ago amid the beauty and peace of the Rockies. We are so pleased to have chosen to relocate to “Sesame Street for adults” where our neighbours demonstrate the true meaning of community.

Donna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Garry; her son, Jeff and his children, Makenna and Marleigh; her daughter, Krista (Jim) Lister and their children, Bella and Katie; her daughter, Jill (Chad) Dean and their children, Kennedy and Harlow. She will also be remembered by a large group of friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Cooper in 2008. Her reputation as a loyal friend, enjoyable companion and superb event organizer will outlive her and bring us all fond memories. We all miss you greatly already and you have barely left.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Memorial, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 9907 – 114 Street, Edmonton with Pastor Larry MacKay officiating. Cremation will follow and Donna will rest in peace with her daughter, Nancy at our family plot in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park. To view a livestream of the service, please visit www.parkmemorial.com and select “Webcasting” from Donna’s Book of Memories.
