On Monday, October 10, 2022, Emelia Payment formerly of Vermilion passed away at the age of 95 years in MacTaggart Place Retirement Residence in Edmonton, Alberta.

Emelia will be loved and remembered by her children, Janine Shalka of Edmonton, AB, and Arnold Payment (Elizabeth Cowley) of Sydney, Australia; her grandchildren, Tricia (Steve Artim), Matthew (Anna Lindtjorn), Jason (Shaleen Kim) and Drew Shalka (Andrea Chalut); and her great-grandchildren, Harper and Ella.

Emelia was predeceased by her husband, Ron Payment; grandson, Martin Shalka; parents, Joseph and Eva Deeg; siblings, Joe, Ernie, Martin and Thena Deeg and Marjorie (Bud) Darrach; and son-in-law, Lennard Shalka.
