Obituary for Frances Zanovia Tomash (Lupul)

Frances Zanovia Tomash (Lupul)
September 28, 1937 - June 29, 2022

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Frances "Baba" Tomash (née Lupul) on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the age of 84 years following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Frances was born in Edmonton in 1937, the only daughter of the late Eugene and Kay Lupul. She met her late husband of 57 years, George in 1954. They married in 1955 and started their family with daughters, Colleen and Debbie and son, Wayne. George and Frances moved to St. Albert in 1964 and she spent the next 58 years in the community she loved. As a lifelong camping enthusiast, Frances enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends and did so up until she got sick. Mom loved a campfire, a story of days gone by, fishing and making happy memories. Mom was Baba to everyone, whether you were her family or not- if you were her friend, you immediately became family.

Left to cherish the amazing life Frances lived are her children, Colleen (David), Debbie and Wayne; grandchildren, Ryan (Mariko), Allison (Ryan), Kristin (Julian) and Cameron (Keri); and great- grandchildren, Mason, Emmett, Desmond, Claire, Benjamin, Cole and Noah. She will be missed by numerous relatives, friends, neighbors and all her Mink Lake Family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wong, Dr. Stickney-Lee, The Cross Cancer Institute and the nurses and doctors of the Misericordia Hospital, especially 7W and 8E, for the amazing and compassionate care offered to mom in her final days.

Respecting mom's final wish, cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
