Obituary for Gino Galasso

It is with great sorrow that the family of Gino Galasso announce his passing on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the age of 91 years.

Gino is lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Julie; children, Sandra Harris (Evan), Gina Rawlick (Ken) and Dean Galasso (Cheryl); grandchildren, Douglas (Kristen), Daniel (Brooklyn), Robert (Evelyn), Laura (Stephen), Geoffrey, Samantha (Cody), Connor, Brandon and Cole; great-grandchildren, Kate, Ricky, Sebastian, Tommy and Miles; and sisters, Pina, Maria (Gaetano) and Pia Galasso.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Antonia; and siblings, Ardemia, Theresa, Emma, Alfea, Mario, Diego, Clelia, Vasco and Diana.

Gino was born in Chions, Italy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Gino was an excellent chef, working at the Hotel MacDonald and the Youville Nursing Home. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping.

Thank you to Dr. Lauren Bolster, Dr. Wynick and staff of the Sturgeon Hospital IV Clinic for their care and compassion shown to Gino.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Memorial, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton. A second viewing will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic Parish. Reverend Jack Herklotz officiating with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
