Obituary for Henry Burzminski

Henry Burzminski
Henry Burzminski, 71, of St. Albert, AB, peacefully passed away on January 8, 2023. He was surrounded by the people he cherished most - his wife, children and mother.

Henry was born in Radway, AB on January 16, 1951, to Cassie and Mike Burzminski. He grew up with six siblings, residing in Alberta and British Columbia. As a boy, he loved helping on the family farm and you could often find him riding a cow home after his chores. As a teen, he spent time playing hockey and helping in the family businesses.

When Henry was 21, he met Kathy. They fell in love while standing in as a groomsman and bridesmaid at a cousin’s wedding. Within 3 years, they started a family, complete with two children – Curtis and Cynthia and set their roots in Spruce Grove, AB. Henry’s childhood interests and love for entrepreneurship blossomed into a successful trucking company and retail store. As a family, they loved spending time on their farm, going on road trips and ice skating. Being a generous father was of the utmost importance to Henry and he wholeheartedly loved his family.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy; son, Curtis; daughter, Cynthia; grandsons, Clayton and Lucas; and mother, Cassie; five siblings, Leona, Jeanette, Richard, Mary and Kris. He was predeceased by his father, Mike; brother, Randal; and sister, baby Roberta.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, kindness and concern shown to them during this difficult time. We have appreciated all the reminders that Henry didn’t just touch our hearts, but so many others as well.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation.
