May 29, 1959 – December 18, 2022

The family of Jay Crone is saddened to share the news of his passing on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the age of 63 years, following a battle with cancer.

Jay leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Kandas Lui Crone; sons, Brandon and Jarrod Crone, all of Edmonton; father, James Cole; sisters, Norma Crone, Diane Bowen (Greg), Gerri Nykyforuk (Barry) and Gillian Peter (Brian); mother-in-law, Shiu-Hun Mar; brother-in-law, Warren Lui (Sarah); sister-in-law, Pui-Har Lui; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his mother, Audrey Cole; Norman Crone; and his father-in-law, Gee-Leung Lui.

Jay was born in Edmonton and lived his whole life in the area, making lifelong friends while growing up in Ottewell and attending schools in the area. He met his wife of 30 years, Kandas, while working at a restaurant. After graduating from NAIT’s Architectural Drafting Program, he worked most of his career at Alberta Truss and later in his career at Westek Truss System Ltd. Many times, Jay put his talent to use creating house plans for families who were building new homes.

Jay was known to friends and family as a Disney fan, lover of golf, hockey and vacations. He was beloved as an easy-going family person, with a huge heart and a wicked sense of humor. His family often had the pleasure of enjoying dishes he prepared from recipes that he perfected while he worked as a chef in his younger years.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 29, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Millwoods Golf Course, 4540 - 50 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta. Please RSVP here:
