We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Joao Travassos da Costa on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the age of 82 years.

Joao is survived by his loving wife, Maria Ligia; children, Peter (Pauline), Sandy (Richard) Giasson, grandchildren, Richanda (Aidan), Brayden, Lydia and Sydney (Nathan); sister, Urania da Costa; and numerous extended relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, Benedito and Belmina; siblings, Joao da Costa, Jose da Costa, Maria Jose Galvao and Alcidia Pereira.

Funeral Mass Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 12311 – 55 Street, Edmonton with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
