It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Josephine “Josie” Salloum on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of 90 years. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Josie loved cooking and baking. Many Lebanese family recipes were shared with her daughters and often the grandchildren would help out. Another passion of hers was gardening, she had an amazing green thumb and was able to grow anything - inside or outside. Josie was known to greet everyone with a hug and a heartfelt kiss. Her home was always open to friends and family, she loved entertaining and had great stories to share. She made an amazing cup of coffee and cherished spending time over coffee and sweets regaling tales of her travels and adventures.

We were so proud of our mom; she was confident, caring and adventurous. Many skills and talents were shared over the years with family and friends. We can't imagine life without her embrace and tenderness. Whenever we look out at the garden at roses, her favourite, or reflect on time spent with mom we will hear her soft voice and feel her warm hugs. She will forever remain in our hearts.

Left to cherish Josie’s memory are her six children, Zina (Reinhard), Maha (Randy), Heam, Ghazan (Denise), Sanna (Nick) and Rita (Angelo); 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and siblings, Joseph, Selma and Elias.

She is predeceased by her husband, Elias; parents, Moussa and Sara; and siblings, Rose, Philip and George.

A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 10831 – 124 Street, Edmonton with entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
