Obituary for Kathleen June Tennant (née Landry)

Kathleen June Tennant (née Landry)
June 8, 1940 - August 30, 2022

Our immensely loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2022, at the Roozen Family Hospice Centre.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald; her daughter, Adrienne (Mike); and her grandchildren which she adored, Bailey (Charlie) and Davis (Madison).

Kathleen was a gifted high school athlete in volleyball and basketball. She went to business college and ended up at her dream job as an executive assistant, with the Edmonton Eskimos for 30 years until she retired. Her next calling was at the Hudson’s Bay which she loved- the customers and her coworkers gave her the social interaction she craved. She was a fashionista always looking her best.

She lived for curling and golf with the incredibly huge circle of friends that kept her and Don busy and living life to the fullest.

Her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. We are better people because we had Kathleen in our life. She was able to spend a welcome amount of time with us when she took early retirement and made every second count.

We thank the staff from the Cross Cancer Institute’s palliative care team, Pod D that helped us navigate her end of life. Sonya, Stephanie, Dr. Noush and all those in the background, we thank you! We were also blessed that she spent her final days at the unbelievable Roozen Family Hospice Centre. It is the most caring place we could have ever experienced. Thank you to Dr. Girard, the compassionate nursing team, volunteers - everyone, you have our gratitude for the care you gave her and our whole family.

A Celebration of Life will be planned within the coming months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s name may be made to Pilgrims Hospice Society.

Rest well, beautiful soul. We miss you.
