Obituary for Kenneth Raymond "Ken" Aasgard

Kenneth Raymond "Ken" Aasgard
Ken (Kenneth) Raymond Aasgard, 61, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on February 24th, 2024. Ken engaged in a dogfight with pancreatic cancer and bravely held his own until the end.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Liev and Marion Aasgard. Ken left behind his partner, Kelly Bentley; son, Jesse Rudiger-Aasgard (Meghann); grandchildren, Scout and Cliff; brother, Cory Aasgard (Michele); nieces, Kimberlee, Nicole, and Britney; and honorary adoptees, Mike Muirhead, and Crystal Anderson.

Ken was a brilliant person with a diverse body of knowledge and enjoyed many conversations with those in his circle. He has a giant orbit of loved ones, friends, co-workers and contacts that will miss his charming and social, yet surly personality. At the center of his universe will always be his grandchildren Scout and Cliff. Ken started in his trade with tickets/certificates in pipefitting, gasfitting, and welding. Through long hours and hard work he became a subject matter expert in his field. He had a natural inclination and passion for the petrochemical industry which was his other key to success. His contributions to the industry have landed across the Americas.

Ken was committed to land stewardship and cared about the environment. He was an avid gardener who knew his horticulture. He loved spending afternoons in the garden and nurseries. His assortment of plants in the living room attest to this.

As per Ken's wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service. Stay tuned for celebration of life information.
