Obituary for Laureen Diane "Laurie" Wagar

Laureen Diane "Laurie" Wagar
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Laurie “Lollie” Wagar after a sudden but brief illness.

She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her kind, giving, and jovial nature. Her brilliant humour and easy, contagious laughter could brighten any situation. Our Laurie will live on in the cherished memories and hearts of those left behind. She will be deeply missed.

Laurie is survived by her best friend and loving partner of 35 years, Penny Brettelle; son, Jason Brettelle; sister, Janine Huber; niece, Dalane (Don) Imeson; nephew, Chris (Joanne) Huber, and many beloved friends.

Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Doreen Wagar; brother, Sean; great-niece, Rowan Imeson and great-nephew Brady Imeson.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all who have reached out during this difficult time, and to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their care.

At Laurie’s request, there will be no formal service, though a small gathering for a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be directed to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2
