Obituary for Lawrence Robert "Larry" Yaremchuk

February 20, 1950 – October 29, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Yaremchuk of Edmonton on October 29, 2022, at the age of the age of 72 years. Larry's quiet battle with medical issues in recent years displayed his courage and tenacity to face life's challenges with a smile. He lived his final years with family and friends on his terms.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Lorraine; daughters, Sherri (Michael) and Shannon; grandchildren, Lucas and Violet; sisters, Lorraine and Gail; brothers, Gary (Wendy) and Ken (Cheryl); nieces and nephews, Sabrina, Michelle (Karl), Aaron, Erika (Dalen), Jordan (Chanelle), Nolan (Karyssa) and Austin (Grace); great-nieces and great-nephews, Mercedes and Frankie; Odin and Anna, Brynlee and Lainey; as well as extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, John (2005); mother, Olga (2021); and his brother-in-law, Winston "Pullar" (2021).

Larry's parents instilled the value of strong family ties, which he in turn passed down to his family. Both at work in the commercial roofing industry and in his personal life, he earned respect and long-term friendships through fairness, integrity, and a little bit of impulsiveness. He was always available to lend a hand or borrow something, supply advice and support, or to just sit back and listen.

Larry loved traveling, golfing, reading, watching movies about the 'Old West,' and playing cards and board games. He cherished his time with family, especially doting on his grandchildren. He attended hockey and baseball games, Ukrainian dance recitals, and other various sporting events. Whenever they had something going on, Dido was there. He also enjoyed Lucas' Lego creations and trying to understand online gaming, and Violet's creativity with paper crafts, face paint and sadly, hot glue.

Thank you to the staff of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their gentle care and compassion during Larry's last days.
