The family of Lorne James Hooper “The Dad” are heartbroken to announce his peaceful passing on August 08, 2022, at the age of 91 years.

Lorne is survived by his loving children, Lynn Zaiffdeen (Dennis - deceased), Marilyn Hooper (Tom), Laine Hooper (Debra), Leslie Helm (Stewart), Danelle Osmond, Denise Douglas (Ken), Jeff Foster (Sharon), Joe Foster, Jill Foster and Samantha Woolsey (Guy); brother, Garry; sister, Gilaine (Bob Porter); and his first wife, Nadine C. McLear.

He was predeceased by his father, Lyndon Hooper; mother, Lorna Higginbotham; and brother, Don (Lillian), sister-in-law, Josephine; his infant brother, Russ and his partners, Margaret-Anne (Pal) Hooper, Maureen Decore, and Doreen Lutksy-Hooper. He was much loved by his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him and his annual Christmas extravaganza.

Our dad lived a rich, full life.

Many thanks to the University of Alberta Hospital staff and physicians for their warm, gentle and tender care of our dad.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044 - 113 Street, Edmonton. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Royal Glenora Club, 11160 River Valley Road, Edmonton. In true Lorne Hooper style, there will be cocktails, appetizers and an open mic for toasts and tributes.
