October 15, 1931 - December 11, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Marija Trpin, on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 91 years. She will be deeply missed by all family and friends across Canada and Slovenija.

Marija always wanted to help everyone. All were welcome in her home, with the world’s greatest potica and štrudel, coffee and tea ready for visitors. Anyone who ran into her would instantly receive the warmest smile and uplifting companionship.

Marija is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jože Trpin; children, Olga (Marco), Miro, and Franc; sister, Francka Brus (Cveto); brother, Matevž (Dragica); and her sisters-in-law, Dragica Fabijan and Neža Fabijan.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marija and Franc Fabijan; and brothers, Francelj (Neža), Janez (Dragica,) Jože (Zdenka), Peter (Angela), Stefan (Marija), and Lojze (Anica).
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out to give their love and condolences.

A Prayer Service will take place Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 6 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton officiated by Reverend Jim Corrigan. Visitation Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial. Funeral Mass Friday, December 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Savio Roman Catholic Church, 14406 - 62 Street, officiated by Reverend Sagayaraj Devadoss, SDB with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 13819 - 82 Street.
