Obituary for Mark Kennedy Laubman

Mark Kennedy Laubman
June 30, 1964 – September 5, 2022

It is a sad time in our lives to lose a person such as Mark at the age of 58 years. He passed away in the Royal Alexandra Hospital following a series of ailments attacking his body. He made our lives better because he was a big part of us. He had a beautiful nature, a jovial disposition, fun loving spirit, and devotion to spirituality.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Graceann; daughter, Nickayla; soon to be born son, Nathanael; mother, Laurene (Renee) Park; adopted stepdad, Richard (Bill) Long; sisters, Barbara Laubman, Janet (Greg) Hatch, Karen (Perry) Massner and Donna Park; brothers, Dave Laubman and Gary Laubman; nephews, Dustin Massner (Jillian) and Brandon Hatch (Cassidy); nieces, Courtney Massner, Katie Hatch, Jenna Interman and Cheri Interman. He will also be missed by his many cousins living in British Columbia.

Mark was predeceased by his father, Jim Laubman on November 10, 2018. Jim’s wife, Wilma, also played a role in Mark’s life while married to Jim.

Mark was born in Edmonton where he lived most of his life except for a few years spent in Guelph, Ontario. He has always possessed a winning way, where his smile and friendly manner locked him into our hearts. He started out thinking he would be a hockey player, however his passion turned to competitive swimming. From the age of eight to eighteen he competed and won many firsts in swimming competitions held in various cities and provinces. He was also a swimming instructor and lifeguard in Edmonton at West Edmonton Mall and other pools across Edmonton.

Mark attended MacEwan University and graduated in a police studies program called Law Enforcement.

He worked for the Edmonton Transit system both driving the train and the bus for the past fifteen years.

A Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. at All Nations Full Gospel Church, 14705 – 116 Avenue, NW, Edmonton, Alberta. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 p.m. at All Nations Full Gospel Church with interment in Northern Lights Cemetery, 5203 Campbell Road NW, Edmonton.
