We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Orlene Golinsky of Stony Plain, AB on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

Babba is survived by her loving husband, Ray; children, Lisa (Shawn) of Stony Plain, Keith (Coriene) of Spruce Grove, Brad (Lexi) of Leduc and Stephanie of Wildwood; grandchildren; Maddie and Dustin Golinsky of Spruce Grove, Sydni and Logan Grono of Stony Plain, Max and Cohen Golinsky of Leduc, Reese and Hope Lueders of Wildwood and Halle and Carter Golinsky; and sister, Marion Smerechinsky of Edmonton.

She was predeceased by her son, Kyle in 2021; parents, Alice and Walter Smerechinsky; and granddaughter, Quinn Golinsky.

Nothing was more important to Babba than her family, and Ray, the love of her life – she always put them first. She was the ultimate traditional wife, mom and grandma and aways gave us a lot to aspire to. She was incredibly proud of her family.

Aside from family, she also took great pleasure in cooking and baking. Babba’s buns, cookies, pies, Ukrainian dishes, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, mini pizzas, midnight mundare sausage and cheese platters, homemade pickles, carrots and fruit (just to name a few!) were nothing short of the best. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and cherished all opportunities to travel.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 5201 Lac St. Anne Trail South, Onoway, AB. Father Liju Jose officiating with interment in St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta.
