Obituary for Paul Stosky

Paul Stosky
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Paul Stosky on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Irene; children, Dianne (Mike), Don (Karen), Dave (Janet) and Gary (Eileen); grandchildren, Keith (Renee), Greg (Marija), Johnny, Adam (Kori), Tori (George), Jordan (Melanie) and Steven; great-grandchildren, Kiannah, Marcus and Nicolas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and grandson, Brian.

Paul was born in Smoky Lake, AB, where he grew up on a farm and learned the value of a strong work ethic. Later, his family moved to a new homestead near Hines Creek, AB and attended Fairview High School. He acquired an accounting diploma through Alberta College and N.A.I.T and worked for 28 years for the City of Edmonton in Payroll, retiring in 1984. Paul met his lovely wife, Irene, through mutual friends while attending St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. They had an amazing 71 years of marriage. Paul will be remembered for his kind disposition, generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. Paul always maintained his great sense of humour. He will be dearly missed. We will always cherish the good times we had with him and the life lessons he imparted upon us. Paul lived a good life and we are truly grateful to have played a part in it.

Thank you to the staff at The Churchill Revera and the nurses, doctors and staff of the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for their care and compassion shown.

A Divine Liturgy will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 7007 – 109 Street, Edmonton. Basilian Fathers officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. To view livestreaming of the Divine Liturgy, please click below:
