Obituary for Samuel James "Jim" McElveen
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Jim McElveen on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the age of 67 years.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Lorraine; four daughters, Leahann (Derek), Colleen, Shelley (Carlos) and Shannon (Chris); eight grandchildren, Braeden, Lachlan, Aiden, Cohen, Payton, Kaylee, Gabby and Chloe; and three step-grandchildren, Craig, Claire and Mya.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many healthcare professionals who cared for Jim throughout his nearly 30-year battle with kidney disease. The staff of Jim’s dialysis unit and those we interacted with at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. We can’t thank you enough.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of other tributes, please consider making a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
