It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Stefania Maria Czyczlo (née Onyszkiewicz) on October 15, 2022, surrounded by her sons, Paul and Michael and husband, David Yaki.

Stefania is survived by her sons, Paul (Michelle) and Michael (Jade); husband, David Yaki; brother, Gienek; as well as her sister-in-law, Marysia and their children and grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Natalia and Joseph Onyszkiewicz.

Stefania was born in Nowy Dwór, Poland on May 14, 1960. She immigrated to Canada in 1992 and was known and loved by many with whom she worked for many years - both as a secretary for the LINC Program with the Edmonton Catholic School Board, and as a health care aide at St. Michael’s Long Term Care Centre.

She worked hard to provide for her sons Paul and Michael. She wanted grandchildren. Although we lost her too soon, we are grateful that in her last week, she learned that her son Paul and daughter-in-law Michelle are expecting the arrival of her first grandchild.

A Divine Liturgy was held Thursday, October 20, 2022, at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, Edmonton. In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated and will be taken back to Poland to be laid to rest beside her parents.
