It is with great sadness that the family of Stefanija Jaros announces her passing on November 16, 2022, at the age of 94 years.

Stefanija will be remembered by her children, Luba Kowalchyk (Rev. Michael), Vlado Jaros (Nada), and Slavica Harasemljuk (Vlado). Grandchildren, Walter Kowalchyk (Danielle), Andrew Kowalchyk (Wanda), Alexander Jaros (Jennifer), Kristina Dublanko (Curtis), Suzana Bodnar (Stephan), Irene O’Brien (Patrick), Maryana Dublanko (Steve). Great-grandchildren, Maxim Kowalchyk, Zoryana Kowalchyk, Kristine Kowalchyk, Larissa Kowalchyk, Victoria Kowalchyk, Danusia Bodnar, Marko Bodnar, Matthew Bodnar, Sophia O’Brien, Arianna O’Brien, Emma O’Brien, Lydia Stefanija Jaros, Victor Jaros, Oliver Dublanko, Ethan Dublanko, Anna Dublanko, and Benjamin Dublanko.

She will be missed by her brothers, Volodymyr Lepki (Luba) of Manchester, UK and Eugen Lepki (Valeria); sister, Jelena Nidogon of Bosnia and Hercegovina; numerous nieces and nephews in Bosnia, Croatia, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
Stefanija was born on May 20, 1928, in Bosnia and Hercegovina, and emigrated to Canada to be with her three children in 1998. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Church and family were the most important parts of her life. Stefanija enjoyed reading, gardening, and taking care of flowers.

Stefanija was predeceased by her husband Pavle Jaros in 1997; her parents Ivan and Julijana Lepki; her brothers Danko Lepki, Silvester Lepki, and Vasilj Lepki; sisters Hanja Jurista and Myroslava Kohan.
Our mother was deeply loved by all of us and will be sadly missed. We take comfort in knowing that she is among angels that she so often talked about. We thank her for teaching us to pray and love Jesus Christ.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral at 10:30 am, 10825 – 97 Street, Edmonton, AB, officiants Rev. Michael Kowalchyk, Fr. Peter Babej assisted by other clergy. Those wishing to make a donation of the late Stefanija Jaros may do so in her memory to Bridge of Hope Edmonton Eparchy Orphanage Fund 9645-108 Ave. Edmonton, AB, T5H 1A3.
