Surender Khehra was born December 2, 1935, to Mr. Raminder Singh and Mrs. Ranjeet Uppal, and completed her life journey on September 20, 2022 — returning to her source.

Predeceased by her two siblings, brother, Sukhbir Uppal, and sister, Dolly Bains, Surender was born in Rampur, a village in Jalandhar. She spent her early life in Jabalpur and other places in Madhya Pradesh, 10 years in England and finally settling in Canada in 1975. Earning her Bachelor and teaching degrees in India, she worked as a teacher, in the airline industry, and for the Alberta government.

Surender immensely loved her beloved husband of 62 years, Charan; her daughters, Mona and Nina; and her two grandsons, Jordan and Alexander. She cherished her longtime friendships, some dating back for more than 50 years.

She supported many charitable causes including the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation, Food Banks and Heritage Senior Stop-in Centre.

Surender will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
