Obituary for Suzanne Maria Audy (nee Ward)

Suzanne Maria Audy (nee Ward)
August 6, 1964 - November 7, 2023

Susi passed away, with Buzz by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59.

She is survived by her loving partner, Buzz Legault; daughter, Sarah (Kohl) Harris; sons, Aiden Tew and Jake Audy; granddaughter, Hannah Harris; mother, Marie Ward; along with numerous extended relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Zach Audy; father, Seamus Ward; and sisters, Frances Simons and Claire O’Boyle.

Susi was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the youngest of three daughters. As a young adult she opened an organic health food store in Leeds, England. In 1997, with three small children in tow she moved to Canada with her then husband, Blair Audy, where they welcomed their fourth child. Susi dedicated the next two decades to raising her family and working at the ECHO Society in Whitecourt, Alberta. Looking for a new adventure Susi and Buzz moved to Mayo, Yukon to work in the gold mining industry, with them both working on the Gold Rush television show.

Susi loved her children beyond measure; her granddaughter was the light of her life. She will be remembered for her caring heart, selfless soul and endless creativity.

The family would like to thank the care she received from numerous facilities including the Whitehorse General Hospital and the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. They also would also like to acknowledge the entire Audy/Beland family for opening their arms and showing Susi love and care during her final six months in Edmonton.

There will be a private Celebration of Life for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation or the Cross Cancer Institute.
