It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Velia Rosa Parpinel on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the age of 87 years.

Velia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Gioacchino “Jack”; children, Sandra Parpinel McIntosh (Donald) and Gary Parpinel (Danielle); and five grandchildren, Ashley, Matteo, Devin, Ava and Sophia.

She was predeceased by her parents, Luigi and Caterina Mattiussi; brothers, Alviso, Giovanni, Pietro, Lucillo and Lietto; sister, Clelia.

A special thank-you to Dr. Tatenda Durosinmi and the staff at 66th Medical Clinic for their care and compassion.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 13131 - 86 Street NW, Edmonton, officiated by Reverend Sathiaseelan Kulandaisamy, SDB. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
