It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Volodymyr Kovalchuk of Edmonton on Monday, February 20, 2023, at the age of 72 years.

Volodymyr is survived by his wife, Nadia Kovalchuk; children, Vitaliy (Sofia) Kovalchuk, Oxana (Lubomir) Luciw of Vancouver, Irena (Ciprian) Bandu and their children, Izabella and Nicholas of Vancouver, Rouslan (Marina) Martyniak of Edmonton, Vasyl Tymkiv of Edmonton, Natalia (Felix) Mats and their daughter, Vanessa of Edmonton, Oleg and Alyona Tymkiv and their daughter, Polina of Edmonton and Natalia (Oleksandra) Tyshkovets of Edmonton; brother, Viktor Kovalchuk and his son, Ivan of Ukraine.

He was predeceased by his parents, Natalia and Ivan Kovalchuk; brother, Ihor Kovalchuk; grandparents, Anna and Fedir Suchy; mother-in-law, Mildred Nancy Skworoda; and sister-in-law, Vira Tymkiv.

Family and friends will gather for Parastas on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 6 p.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church, 11305 – 95A Street, Edmonton. A Divine Liturgy will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church. Reverend Danylo Kuc officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
