It is with sadness and relief that the family of Walter Ostafichuk announce that his difficult battle with dementia is over. He passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the age of 85 years.

Walter will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Rose; their three sons, Doug (Lori), Don and Derek (Tina); along with four grandchildren, Deanna, Chelsea, Luke and Colin; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Annesta and John; and his siblings, Andrew, Mary, John, Sophie and Alex.

The family would like to thank the team at the Good Samaritan Southgate Care Centre for the care and compassion given to Walter in his final months.

Cremation will occur and Walter will be laid to rest at a small private family event. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s or MS research.
