It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of William Jay “Billy” Schermerhorn on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the age of 55 years.

Billy is survived by his son, Raymond (Luna Kendal) Schermerhorn; grandchildren, Freyja, Maghnus and Odin; parents, Ray and Bridget Schermerhorn; siblings, Colleen Klassen, Joanne (Rod) Maughn, Shawna (Cameron) Wylie and Tammy Schermerhorn; as well as his seven nieces, nephews, and one great-niece and nephew.

Brother-in-law, Randy Klassen, Kris Godreau and others will keep you safe, Bill.

A Graveside Service will be held for our beloved Billy Schermerhorn on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road North, Edmonton. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 14339 - 50 Street NW, Edmonton.

In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made in Billy's honour to one of the local children’s sports charities he frequently supported, the Straight Blast Gym.
