1955 – 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Robert “Bob” Strashok announce his passing on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Robert Strashok was born in Edmonton on February 24, 1955, five minutes before his identical twin brother, Gary. He grew up in Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Regina, Denver, and Fort Saskatchewan. Bob had a great interest in science and graduated in 1980 from the University of Alberta with a Degree in Dentistry. Robert practiced dentistry at his clinic in Southwest Edmonton for over 20 years.

Bob enjoyed playing baseball, flag football, basketball, skiing, and curling. He was an avid golfer and travelled Western North America and Hawaii playing many fine courses. In his later years he loved watching and cheering on the Edmonton Oilers and Elks, but especially the local baseball teams the Trappers and Prospects. Robert’s favorite major league team were the Minnesota Twins. He also loved reading and chess.

Bob is survived by his brothers, Gary, Dean, and Alan; and his nephews, Adam, and David; and niece, Vanessa.

He was predeceased by his father, Phil in 2009; and his mother, Anne in 2014.

Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will remember him as a kind and gentle soul. Bob, you have only been gone for a few weeks but to us it feels like forever.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place.
