Obituary for Edward Richard Pardely

Edward Richard Pardely
February 12, 1942 - July 11, 2022

Born February 12, 1942, in Vegreville, Alberta to Vlad and Eva Pardely, Edward Pardely was the youngest of six children. Lil' Eddie... fisherman, cadet, plumber, dad, poppa and so much more to so many - was always ready to crack a joke, share a laugh, help a neighbour, or to his wife's dismay, buy a new car.

Ed met his wife Barbara in 1958, married in 1965 and started a family, eventually settling in Spruce Grove. Ever patient and kind, he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He often reminisced about childhood summers spent at the family cabin on Vincent Lake (or "Stagger Inn" as his siblings secretly named it). Raised in Vegreville and active in the cadets and reserve, Ed went on to complete his third and fourth year in plumbing and gas fitting at NAIT (and was one of the first students ever to attend NAIT), apprenticing under his oldest brother, Wally to complete his journeyman papers. He then became a Superintendent of Maintenance for the County of Mountainview, and eventually retired as a Senior School Facilities Inspector, a 19-year career that he enjoyed until retirement.

Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; and son, Richard (Daunine); daughter, Margo (David); and grandkids, Austyn and Kurtis. He will be ever-loved by his brothers and sisters who have passed on and those still with us: Edith (John) Antoniuk, Eleanor (Ernest) Tetreau, Rudy (Joan) Pardely, Wally (Saydie) Pardely, Lillian (Euguene) Tomashavsky, Joan (Ken) Townend and Robert Turner; along with the many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Ed.

Words cannot express the loss we feel in our family, but we will carry the memories we have made along the way forever and share them often in celebration of our Ed.

Our deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Mel Miller Hospice at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, who cared for Ed with the utmost professionalism and compassion in his final days.
