We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Idalina Alves Roxo Dias Da Cruz on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the age of 77 years.

Idalina is reunited with her husband, Andre Goncalves Da Cruz. She is survived by her children Eduarda Maria Da Cruz’Smith, Antonio Andre Da Cruz, Francisco Joao Da Cruz, Andre Jose Da Cruz, Paulo Pedro Roxo Da Cruz and Cindy Maria Roxo Williams; grandchildren, Kaden Paulo Roxo Da Cruz, Kristian Andre Kenneth Da Cruz, Kali Corinne Roxo Da Cruz, Rio Isabel Da Cruz’Smith, Egan Philip Da Cruz’Smith, Avalina Maria Williams and David John Williams; and sisters, Maria Alves Roxo Carvalho, Maria Vitoria Alves Roxo, Maria Leonor Alves Roxo, Maria Alice Alves Roxo.

Idalina immigrated to Canada from Portugal in 1969 with her husband Andre and their two oldest children, with the dream of a better life and more opportunities for their growing family. Idalina was a loving mother of six children and a hard-working person. She was known for her generosity and never wanted anyone to feel left out. Faith was very important to her, and she devoted her time to the word of God, to seek peace and joy from his good words. She had a beautiful voice and would often sing in the kitchen while cleaning. Above all else, she treasured being a mother and grandmother and having her family close.
