It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Hrynchyshyn (née Bayduza) announce her passing on February 27, 2023, in St. Albert at the age of 92 years.

Josephine will forever be remembered by her three children, Michael (Jacqueline), Cathy and Greg (Krista); her three cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, and Matthew; and her siblings, Alexandra, Ihor, Veronica, and Audrey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Bohdan “Robert”; parents, Roman and Catherine; and nephew and godson, Christopher.

Josephine was active in St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Parish for many years, where she assisted with the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League, church music and catering. In retirement, in addition to enjoying travel and time spent with friends and family, Josephine fulfilled her great love of music through her membership in the St. Nicholas Mandolin Ensemble.

The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at River Ridge, where Josephine resided for her last years, and to the staff of Foyer Lacombe for their care and kindness in her final days.

A Divine Liturgy will be held Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 7007 - 109 Street Edmonton with interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
