Katherine Irene “Kathy” Morrison (née Wuschenny) of Edmonton passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 87 years.

Kathy was born on August 16, 1935, near Ituna, Saskatchewan to parents Alex and Katie, immigrants to Canada from the Ukraine. Life was challenging on the prairie at the time, with no running water or central heating, but they persevered. As one of 12 children, family was always a big part of Kathy’s life.

After graduating high school in Ituna, Kathy attended Central Normal (teaching) School in Manitoba. She met her husband, Bud, while teaching in Shellmouth, Manitoba. They later moved to Edmonton when Bud joined the police force. Kathy upgraded her education at the University of Alberta and taught for many years at elementary schools in Edmonton. Upon retirement, Kathy took an active role in raising her four grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Brian and Ken (Holly); sisters, Anne and Zonia; grandchildren, Quinn, Rachael, Duncan, and Gavan; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who have reached out to them during this difficult time.

A Graveside Service will be held on November 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton.
