Condolences

Condolence From: Cathy Shanley
Condolence: Dear Jo-Anna and Family,

Saddened to hear of your mother's passing, we fondly remember family visits in town and at the farm. Your mother was a welcoming and gracious hostess.
Chats with Loretta where always the highlight of shopping trips to Londonderry Mall.

With sympathy, condolences from my mother Anne, my brother Craig and his family and myself. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Cathy Shanley

Condolence: I got to know Loretta through my mom, Nat Payne. One of her buddies. A good one. Every time I was back in Edmonton (from New Brunswick where I live), we'd get together with Loretta. Oh, to see those two together, mom and Loretta, and to hear their stories...a real treat.

I was so very sad to learn that Loretta is no longer with us. I will miss her dearly. Her down to earth sensibility, her twinkle in the eye, and yes, that great sense of humour.

Jo-Anna and family, Loretta was so very proud of you. She would tell us about you and the kids, what projects you had on the go. Sending you sincere and heartfelt condolences.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear about Loretta's passing. Condolences to you, Jo-Anna, and to your family. Loretta was so proud of all of you.

I met Loretta at exercise classes and lunch at the Jewish Senior Centre, and we became good friends. We would go out for tea or lunch together, especially to Earl's, or Vi's for Pies. Loretta would quip, "Oh, let's just skip the lunch. We all know we're here for the pie!"

She also came over to my house on several occasions, and I was honoured that she was there to help celebrate my 95th and 98th birthdays.

We also made a number of organized outings together to Jasper Park Lodge, in the spring and fall. We talked about anything and everything, and had so much fun.

I have lost a dear friend and will truly miss Loretta's companionship and friendship.
