God must have needed an Angel in Heaven

In 1989 I joined the Alberta Securities Commission where I met a earthly Angel Marsha Manolescu. I am sure growing up in Fulton Place not far from the Frankie-Dorothy Morris family home I must have met Marsha at the skating rink or with her brothers but having the opportunity to work with her and listen to her stories about growing up with her family and the many Edmonton Eskimos football players who her mom and dad invited over for a meal was a real treat.

Many of the football players Marsha family adopted lived in an Apartment building my parents managed as a result Marsha and I shared many many laughs and listening to her tell how her parents home became the teams home where players became just another Morris.

It was obvious that Marsha was a brilliant lawyer, so helpful to all but she had an even bigger gift and that was her love of her family and friends. Over the years I heard the stories about her family, their growing up, I saw her pride and joy as she talked about her family and their accomplisments. Marsha loved to hear my stories about being an RCMP and to help guide myself and others who needed advice on securities matters.

I would often run into Marsha at the Capilano mall with her mom and dad and watched as she assisted them as they struggled with getting older. Marsha was always the first to support a cause and was one of the first to jump on board to support a childrens Christmas party for the children of staff members. She would be baking, raising funds and all dressed up handing out presents.

Marsha was one of a kind, she truly was an angel, she cared about people, she went out of her to help her family, friends and people she just met. Marsha had a special quality that drew people to her. She was never rushed, she always remembered your name, never forgot what you told her and always had the biggest smile as she greeded you.

If you are a believer you know that God must have needed a special Angel and now he has her in his arms,no more suffering. One thing I believe is that Marsha will be looking down at her family and friends and guiding them with the larger than life smile as she watched their accomplisments.
