It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Robert “Bob” Saskiw of Edmonton, at the age of 77 years.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his son, Sheldon (Holly); and his daughter, Lisa; grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Matiushyk and Madison (Janelle) Davis; great-grandchildren, Eddy and Charlie Matiushyk and Ellie and Beckam Davis; brother, Tom (Violet); sister, Linda Zorniak; sister-in-law, Lil Saskiw; Sheldon and Lisa’s mother, Lovett Saskiw; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, William (Bill) and Mary; brother, Albert (Bert) and brother-in-law, Chris Zorniak.

Robert had a passion for fishing, hunting, camping and golfing. He was a great armchair and sideline coach when watching his favourite teams: the Oilers, Elks and Blue Jays. He led a lengthy career in the construction industry, including 37 years with Stuart Olson Construction. After retiring in 2010, he always looked forward to helping his nephews and brother-in-law during harvest season.

A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 7 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 6425 – 120 Avenue NW, Edmonton.

Divine Liturgy Friday, September 2, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Very Reverend Mihajlo Planchak officiating with interment at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Vegreville.
